Timeslips 2020 - Hyperlink

SOLVED

I do billing for a few lawyers and I am having a terrible time trying to get a Law Pay hyperlink into the invoices for this months billing. Anyone have the key to this puzzle?

Thanks,

MARY

, it really depends what kind of link you want and where.

The "official" link that the Timeslips documentation will speak about is only available in an email cover page. Those fields are NOT available for use in the regular layout.  The fields in the email cover page not only link to the LawPay website, but also prepopulate the amount and Client identifier. That way when Timeslips pulls in the payment from LawPay later, it will "know" which client to associate it with and post to that account. You must also use the email the bill function within Timeslips for this to work. No manually attaching the PDF to send.

The less advanced method is to simply put a URL link in the body of the bill layout. I use this method myself. I just add a bitly link like this: http://bit.ly/DTS-LawPay

I change the font color to blue so that my customers recognize it as a weblink and click on it. It takes them to my LawPay landing page, but does NOT prefill the amount and include a client identifier. I do ask my customers to key in an Invoice Number when they arrive, but I also don't have that much volume that it takes me that long to figure out which payment goes to which client.

Both methods have their pros and cons. But that should help you.

, so sorry to hear you were not getting help via your other channels.  In all fairness, I don't think it is a LawPay issue, so would not expect them to be able to answer your inquiry.

Happy to help, any time. Hope you are staying relatively cool, and have a great holiday weekend.
