Looking to help a client with an upgrade

Hey there! Been looking around a bit and hoping for some insight or guidance to make this transfer a success

I am looking to help a client with a very old mac computer; a G4 running TSTimer and TSTimer Reports. My own digging shows that Timeslips replaced TSTimer and TSTimer reports, and that was later replaced by the newest generation of Timeslips from Sage.

The user has (clearly) been using this for a while, and my research mostly pointed on how to transfer from TSTimer / Reports over to Timeslips, which isn't supported any longer. I would love to get them up to date; they have a newer device and I am looking for any resources on tips, tricks, or things to look out for when trying to update to the new Timeslips

As you may guess, the user also would have a steep learning curve to understanding the newest platform and updated tools at their disposal. Any resources you can suggest that might be helpful which I could suggest would also be useful in easing this transfer.

Thank you!

  • Timeslips does not work in a Mac environment unless you use something like parallels. There was a Mac version but it has not been available for quite a while. You might be able to migrate the data to a new version of Timeslips in a window environment, but not sure about the data. I would be happy to talk with you about it. Timeslips is now a subscription but it does run in a Windows environment. Alternatively you could look at cloud-based options. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss.

I see; thank you! I will see what the client says. I understand the client is a Mac user for a few decades, now, and will see how they like the idea of Parallels. I imagine there isn't much documentation on importing items from TSTimer and TSTimer Reports to the latest generation of tools, as plenty of time passed between releases.

Thanks again for your input; hoping we can get a stable solution for them
