Tips for Emailing Invoices with Timeslips 2019 and 64-Bit

SOLVED

Hello:

I currently have 2019 Timeslips and most recently had a new computer set up with 64-bit.  Unfortunately, I found out that Timeslips is not compatible with 64-bit systems.  My problem is that I can no longer email my invoices out.  I have to print them all out, pick through the ones that need to be emailed, scan them to a PDF format, them in their designated folder in our system, and email them out individually.  There has got to be an easier and more efficient way.  This takes forever when it used to be fairly quick.  Help!  I need some guidance.  Thank you.

To say that "Timeslips is not compatible with 64-bit systems" is not `quite` correct.

Timeslips works fine with 64 bit hardware and operating systems, but not with the 64 bit version of Microsoft Office that includes Outlook.

It is possible to run the 32-bit version of Office on a 64-bit machine.  Indeed Microsoft has an article about choosing which one to install on a 64-bit machine here. https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/choose-between-the-64-bit-or-32-bit-version-of-office-2dee7807-8f95-4d0c-b5fe-6c6f49b8d261

Your hardware support personnel should be able to remove the 64-bit and install the 32-bit for you.

If that is not an option for you, then yes, you will have to email the bills manually.  However, you should NOT need to scan anything just to get a PDF.  (You are definitely working too hard there.) Timeslips has the ability to REPRINT a bill image to a beautifully clear/crisp/and text accurate PDF.

You can use the Document Location feature to tell Timeslips where to put the PDFs and how to name them.  Then just go over to your 64-bit Outlook and attach those PDFs to the emails.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Nancy:

Thank you, your response did help!  My ability to translate the technical verbage is limited at times, but thank you for filling in the blanks on the 64-bit, and giving me a tip to help navigate through the bill processing.

After using TS 2017 for over five years, we finally upgraded.  We are having the same problem that people had three years ago with being unable to send bills by email as we had been doing.  At least we're not alone, but I find it hard to believe that years later, with Microsoft Office everywhere and not going away, that Timeslips has not fixed this problem!  Thanks for your great responses to Timeslips users' questions.  Our IT person is going to uninstall the 64-bit version of Office and install the older 32-bit version.  Sure hope it works.  Being able to email bills is one of the best features of Timeslips.

Timeslips only supports 32 bit so that will likely fix the issue. The other issue that comes up is an outlook profile with more than one email account set up. That does not work and you need a separate profile.

Our IT person installed the 365 Outlook 32-bit program last night and that fixed the problem - my bills go out by email just as they did before.
