Changing an attorney from an Associate to Partner

We recently had an Associate made a Partner in the firm.  How does this affect things in Billing?  Will previous time entered in for this attorney as an associate stay as an associate and that rate?  What happens if time entered on the same bill/client now as a partner change?

Would it make sense to create another timekeeper for this person as a Partner than to change them from an associate?

I don't suggest adding a new timekeeper. If you change the timekeepers rates than any existing time entries will be at the old rate and new entries will be at the new rate. I would assume that this is what you want and that clients have been notified of rate changes or your fee agreement allows this.
