Time and Expense Margins in Invoices

I have just upgraded from Timeslips 2009 to Timeslips 2018.  Following the necessary data conversion, when I produce an invoice the time entries (date, attorney nickname, description of activities, hours billed), all have a far larger left margin than the template from which they are generated.  Each entry appears to be centered on the page (rather than aligned with the left margin set in the template).  How do I cause each entry to be aligned with the left margin rather than centered on the page?

    Does this happen if you print the invoice to the screen and then the printer or if you print directly to the printer? 

    In Bills > Bill and Statement Layouts, if you open the layout you can see how the time charges section is setup. I wonder if you have a large empty field at the start.

    Did you do your own conversion? Or did you have some help with that?

    You may need to tweak the layout a bit post conversion.  There are two settings for each field on a layout.  One is where does the entire field fit on the page.  This setting has a centered option.  That MAY be what is happening to you.  But maybe not.

    WITHIN each field (once positioned on the page) there is a setting for how to arrange the content.  And there is another centered option there.  So that could be it.

    And finally it could be some sort of margin or page size setting that did not convert correctly.

    Bottom line, it is quite difficult to tell on a bulletin board type public forum what exactly is causing your text position.  It is usually much faster to hire Caren or I to remote into your desktop with you to work together to fix what might be wrong.

    However, you are welcome to check the above settings in your layout and see if any of that helps you locate the cause and report back with any additional information.
