Timeslips is slow after moving to new server

We moved timeslips to a new server and it runs fine. However, when we shut down the old server it was moved from it starts running slow. I seems like it is still looking for something on the old server but I can't figure out what it is.

Thanks

Sorry, but we are going to need a lot more information that what is in those three sentences to try and help you.

    What version of Timeslips?

HOW (as exactly as possible) did you move it?

What is the OS of the old and new servers?

Has the old server been taken offline/turned off?

Are you running Realtime Antivirus on the server drive? Either locally or over the network.

Can you run it directly on the server with no speed issues?

What kind of network? Wired? Wireless?

If it runs with no errors, but is just slow, then it is an environmental variable. There is nothing in the software code itself that we can change to make it "run faster." Essentially, it is struggling in that environment and it can be a real PITA to figure out why.

My colleague, and fellow consultant Michael Klein at Computer Directions, Inc. also suggests checking your Active Directory and DNS. If the old server was providing that info, that could be part of your issue.

Thank you Nancy. I'm working on seeing how the old IT group moved it.
