Sarah's Kitchen

In chapter 5, transactions need to be recorded for Sarah's kitchen profile. The previous chapter 4 shows detailed instructions on how to start a company from scratch. The inventory details are not showing up in the receivables and payables modules when selecting items column. When selecting inventory and services in the settings, the inventory module shows that you must manually add in the items but some of the information shown in the book in the actual sage 50 software it does not allow you to add in the information. Why is the file not showing the inventory needed to post the transactions shown in the textbook?

    Thanks for reaching out. Generally, colleges and university accounting programs select their books and we just provide the software.  The publisher of each textbook has a different set of files. Sounds like you set up a company from scratch as part of the exercise. If so, then you'll need to add the inventory to the database. Sage 50's Help menu has steps available for the process. When in the "add an item screen" click F1 Help
