Payroll feature greyed out

SOLVED

Hello, I am working my way through the Chapters in the Pearson book "Using Sage 50 Accounting 2020" and in Chapter 8 payroll is starting. Create Paycheque and adjust paycheque are greyed out. I can use the Payroll Cheque run but then I cannot adjust anything. I did install the studentversion. I need help!

Thanks

    Hi

Thanks for reaching out. Just tried adjusting a paycheque in the sample company using Sage 50 CA Student Version 2021.

Note that we only provide the software, the database from your Pearson student book would be separate.

Check that you are logged in as "sysadmin" the default user in single user mode which has access to all modules and functions in the software (check bottom right of the main Sage 50 CA screen). Also check that no extra windows are open when you access the Employee & Payroll module > Paycheques > Adjust Paycheques.

It should let you proceed like below:

    Hope this helps!

I had the full Sage 50 Payroll version installed before as I worked from home over the summer. I had to uninstall it to install the student premium version - is there some hidden settings that are still not uninstalled that will grey out my paycheque features? If so, how can I make sure these are uninstalled?

    Hi Rosaly,

Thanks for that detail, you should have access. I do in my install of the Student Version. Also ran this by a senior on the support team who suggested having you try ""switch to classic view" from the top right.

In your view, you shouldn't have any orange Xs.

If you do then, a clean re-install of the software would be ideal. See KB 82327 for a tool to clear a previous version being installed on your computer.

    1. Uninstall the software
    2. Download this utility: http://simplydownload.accpac.com/downloads/SimplyAccounting/students/StudentVerCleanUp.zip
    3. Re install the program using all the same codes.

    Warm Regards,
