Reminder: Free W-2 and Aatrix webinar today at 1:00 pm ET

There is still time to register for today's 1 hour free webinar on W-2 Forms and Aatrix.  This is a repeat of the webinar that was hosted earlier this month.  Simply go to https://get.sage.com/HRMSLearningSeries and click 'Register now' in the W-2 Forms and Aatrix webinar.

When: You can attend a live edition of this webinar on Jan. 23rd from 1 PM - 2 PM EST. If you are unable to attend, there is a recording of this topic on the registration page > Recordings and Resources tab.

Who should attend: This webinar is a must for the payroll person processing year-end forms. It will focus on the Form W-2 in Aatrix; how to generate W-2’s, proceed through the wizard and make edits directly on the form.

Suggested Prerequisites: Participants should have a cursory knowledge of the Sage HRMS Payroll module.

  • Hi all!

Here are the answers for the questions from the Webinar. A couple of quick points:

    1. Some of my answers may have been a bit confusing when pertaining to State and Local taxes. Any State and Local taxes that should appear on the W-2 will be available in the Aatrix grid; there is nothing more you need to do. If you recall from Lynn's demo, we had some local California taxes appear that needed attending to.

If you need to file additional State specific forms (I'm looking at you PA Act 32,) this would need to be done as a separate form in Aatrix.

    2. I could have swore there were a few questions I didn't get to before the end of the webinar but everything looked mostly complete. If you asked a question and it does not appear on this list, please reply with your question and we will answer it right in the thread itself.

Alright! With that taken care of, let's get to the questions!

    Question Asked Answer Given
Can the data be sorted during  the W-2 processing ? Not in the Aatrix grid itself. If you wanted to sort the data for easier viewing, the best thing to do is to copy the columns from the grid and paste them into an Excel spreadsheet. From there, any and all Excel wizardry can be done, including sorting.
Is this being recorded so we can go back and review the information again? We are one step ahead of you. :) We already have a recording of this very webinar on Sage City.
Is this webinar for Sage 300C?  This is for Sage HRMS Payroll. However, Sage 300 Payroll is very similiar so some of the parts of the webinar may be useful.
So how do you correct only one W2?  For example,
if a SS# is incorrect and needs to be corrected?
You can change the Social Security number in the Aatrix grid to make the change as needed. Or you can update it in Sage HRMS.
What if you have multiple state withholdings?  How do you get the information on the worksheet?   The worksheet should have any needed states ready to go. If you need to file individually with the state itself, this would be another process in Aatrix.
So I have to do the Federal as one file and each state as an additional file?  Nope! All of your State and Local taxes will be available from the W-2. Now if your state requires additional filing (such as PA) this would need to be a separate process.
Similar question, did I miss where all 4 copies are printing for the same employee?  Yes, all four copies of the W-2 are for the same employee. For local and state taxes individually this would be another process in Aatrix.
Their state, local, federal and personal copies? Correct. The W-2 itself will have all of these.
if you choose to print yourself, will it still print 4 per page Correct. 4 Up is the only option to printing W-2s in Aatrix.
can you print w2's in hrms so you only get 1 per pdf page? The PDFs that are printed in Sage HRMS are one employee per page as a 4-up form.
If an employee gets their w2 and see their ssn is incorrect how do you do a w2c to correct it? The W2c would have to filled out manually at this point.
Is there a webinar on the new W4 form so we can help our employees complete new forms for 2020? Stay tuned! We have something in the works…
Is there a way to save the aatrix tax grid as back up to my reconciliation? Great question. There is not through the Aatrix grid itself. However, you are able to copy all of the columns and paste them into Excel spreedsheet.
Will there be a webinar for Us Payroll and Attrix? This is the webinar we currently have for using Aatrix with Payroll for US filing. We do have a class on Sage University that goes in a bit more detail but this webinar is pretty close to being as in-depth as that class. If there is something you would like to see, please let us know! We are always creating new content based on feedback!
