I need to export Employee Data to provision other applications. What is the best practice or tool you use to export and format HR Data from the SQL database?

SOLVED

We need to provision new hire employees in MS Asure (Network), Purchasing, Learning and other applications. We've used a Crystal Report but it has issues. What have you used to export Employee Data?

You can use Sage HRMS Link to export employee data from Sage HRMS.  Another option is your sql database administrator can export the information directly from SQL.  To use Sage HRMS Link, from the log on screen enter Master and the password (or another users credentials that has access to HRMS Link).  In the third field change the default of Live Data to Sage HRMS Link.  Click Logon. Once you are inside HRMS Link, you will need to build a template and then export the information.

    Build a template:

File > New template.  Assign an ID and description.  If you want to export demographic information (Name, address, birth, etc.) in the Database field select Employee Personnel.  At the bottom of the screen, click Add. Select the field you want to export.  If you need to manipulate the size or if there is a conversion rule, it can be done here.  Click Ok when done.  Repeat these steps until you have a list of fields you want to export.  The order the fields are listed is the order they will be exported.

    Exporting

Import/Export > Export to ASCII File from Sage HRMS. Select the template that you created and click Ok.  In the employer field you can export all employers (Enterprise) or one employer.  Select the location of where to export to. Fill in the fields as applicable.  You can view file or click Start to begin the export.

If you want to remove or add fields being exported, you can modify the template under the File menu.  For more information on how to use Sage HRMS Link, please search our knowledgebase or reach out to Support for any specific questions.
