Starting April 1^st, 2021 according to the extension of the American Rescue Plan Act, employer is subject to 6.2% of the Social Security Tax when employee is taking qualified sick leave and family leave.  Please see Sage Knowledgebase Article 110026 - 'Changes for Social Security Tax for Employers starting April 1st, 2021 and the date extension of FFCRA and CARES Act for Sage HRMS'.  The attachment section has screen shots of the setup.  The Q1 2021 update (or Q2 2021 update must be installed) to have access to the Employer tab to enter the employer portion of social security on these codes.  Please consult with a tax advisor for clarification on any legislative questions.

I'm working on our Q2 941 and the CVIDSS line item still shows 0.062 instead of 0.124 for the calculation. I'm off my employer amount of CVIDSS and that's dumping into Line 7 for adjustments. The Q2 Release Notes state there are no federal tax updates and the IRS form also shows the employee amount only on Line 5a(I). Do you know when this will be updated?

I saw towards the end of last week that the IRS has posted the finalized Form 941 with instructions, including Schedule B.  As of last week, Aatrix had not finalized the form 941.  When the release notes were released, the form also had not been finalized. 

The final 941 form I saw indicated that COVID leaves were to be included in the primary SS line (5). The only reason to use 5a(i) or 5a(ii) was in very specific circumstances. Hopefully, Aatrix will catch up soon. 

I chatted with Aatrix and they are hoping to go live tomorrow with the updated Form 941.
