Lifetime accumulation

SUGGESTED

Can you tell me if the lifetime accumulation on a deduction should reflect the amount that has been deducted for the year so far? We did 2 sample payrolls before going live the first of the year and my lifetime accumulations are off by 2 payrolls. Should I change that amount to be the correct YTD total?

Thanks,

Sue

Lifetime accumulators do not take into account the tax year. For example, Sage HRMS Garnishment Manager uses this field to track the amount withheld for creditor or student loan garnishments which can easily span multiple tax years.

If the amount you are off is the same amount as the two parallel check runs you mentioned, you will need to edit your deduction records accordingly to correct the overstatement.

In general, when we take a client live with Sage HRMS payroll we run queries to purge parallel transactions and reset lifetime accumulators to agree with the actual amount per the last pay run from the old payroll system.
