Sage Abra HRMS / SQL Server compatibility/ System requirements

SUGGESTED
Posted By FormerMember

Hi there,

I'm hoping I could get an answer on this forum. We are using an old version (10.1029) of Sage Abra SQL HRMS Client and we are upgrading our SQL server to Windows Server 2012 R2 and also planning to upgrade to either (SQL 2014\ SQL 2016 whichever is compatible) as well. Currently, we are on SQL 2005 and would like to upgrade to higher version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My questions are:

1) is SQL 2014\SQL2016 compatible with current version of Sage Abra (10.1029)? if not, what is the highest version of SQL we can go to?

2) Also, can I get documentation about the system requirements and compatibility of this old software?

Thank you!

Hi Kaushik - You may be able to find the requirements in a guide for your version of Sage HRMS installed on your client machine. The navigation path for documentation is usually: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Sage HRMS Client\Doc or C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Sage HRMS Client\\Help\Doc

However, Sage HRMS version 10.1 is at least 6 years old and I believe it was obsolesced 4-5 years ago. This means that we haven't tested it for compatibility with SQL Server versions beyond what was available at the time the product was supported. The subsequent version of the software is Sage HRMS 2012 - released either just before or at the start of that year.

And just a friendly reminder that Sage HRMS 2017 will be the only supported version of HRMS at the end of this year. You can find all current product documentation and system requirements online here: http://cdn.na.sage.com/docs/en/customer/hrms/documentation.htm

Since you'll be upgrading from such an old version, the upgrade process may require some planning. There's a recommended upgrade path, and I suggest you contact Customer Support (800-829-0170) to get help.

    Hope this helps!
