Sage HRMS Illinois State Tax Increase

The State of Illinois announced on Friday 7/7 that it will be raising the state income tax to 4.95%.  When contacted Sage told us the fix would be in the 3rd quarter update, I have to say that when our upper management heard we would be waiting until 3rd quarter, you would of thought our company's Payroll department was at fault for the change and not the State Politician's.  Your engineers took away the ability for each company to apply the fix themselves as we have done so many times in the past. From our understanding the fix is retroactive to July 1st. Think of the hardship this could be putting on folks trying to catch up on back tax reporting in the last quarter of 2017.  After talking to Illinois Department of Revenue at this point in time we will be penalized as an employer and as an employee for not collecting the correct amount of tax.  We really hope that you reconsider and develop a patch that can be add before month end.

Thank you,
