Enable/Disable modification of an entry

SOLVED

Normally, whenever you want to create any entry in sage X3, there are two ways,
1. either by clicking the "New Button"
2. "Modifying the existing entry", just need to remove the entry number, press TAB, and all of the attributes of the existing entry will be copied for new entries. after a few modifications, you can create a new entry.

I want to disable this "Modification function" on "Sales Order" that should be applicable for certain users.
this function is already applicable to "Purchase Invoice".

You can complete this through the functional profile of the user.  All > Setup > Users is where you'll see their functional profile.  You can then tunnel through there.  Click on "authorizations"

If they have access to all functions, you may then have to go through the tedious process of unclicking that button and start manually adding functions

Then find the sales order function in the left list, or click the plus to add it

Under options, this is where you can give people very specific actions for the function.  Click on the three dots to see what each letter means

When you are done, then  you absolutely need to click "access code update" on the "functional profile" page so that all users with this functional profile has the same permissions.  You may find that you need to create a new functional profile for these users who shouldn't be able to modify a sales order.

Are you asking to remove the ability for a specific user to create a new SO at all or just removing their ability to create a new SO by copying another document?

Dear I am asking for "just removing their ability to create a new SO by copying another document".

Hate to disappoint you, but I didn't know the answer either. I was just trying to clarify your question since the answer provided by Allison would limit ALL ability to modify/create an SO.
