Invoice Inquiry: Pull Source Document vs Order No

SUGGESTED

Is there a way to have the Invoice field pull from the Source Document vs the Sage-assigned Order No?

By the time I know the Order No, I'm already sitting on the invoice I'm looking for.

    Hi Lisa,

Check out my blog, When a supplier calls…. You could add the Source Document field in BP supplier invoices (Supplier doc. number in Purchase invoicing) to the left list and find the supplier document that way.

    Hope this helps!

What version and patch level are you on? It is always good to include this in forum inquires.

Thank you for your reply and the blog link - I loved it.  So basically, you don't use the actual "Invoice Inquiry" - you use the Left Lists?
Is there a way to drill directly from there to the Payment information?  When I use Invoice Inquiry, I can use the dot menu to get right to the payment information.

I don't know what version / patch I am on.  I've been on here for about 3 weeks with very narrow training.

    Hi Lisa,

Welcome to X3! Your version is under Development, About, and then you click on your folder under Data set. You may not have access to that so it's a good thing to get from your IT contact. It will come in handy if you have to log a case with support. Fixes and enhancements are added in patches so,

Clicking on the Open item on the invoice screens will let you know whether the invoice has been paid. Provisional payment means that the payment has not been posted yet. Once you have the X3 invoice number and you know it has been paid, you can go to the Invoice inquiry or if you are using traceability, click on Journal traceability. Not everyone utilities because it does add overhead to the system (i.e. can slow the system down) .

Another option is your business partner can modify your inquires to pull in additional data for you.

Again, welcome to the Sage X3 family! There are many options to assist you in your learning journey. There are great training classes available on Sage University: https://sageu.com. They have instructor led and anytime learning sessions. In addition to the Sage X3 blogs, we have Sage X3 Support videos which you can access through Sage City.
