Hi Dave,

Thank you for submitting your question to Sage city. When a subcontract order is created using the GESSCO function, within the window of the subcontract, at the top right corner, there is a button called Order. Once this button is clicked, the PO will generate.

I appreciate your response however, the question is around Purchase Contracts as opposed to Subcontract Orders. They are different.

Open orders GESPOC will not generate a purchase order for the QTY received from the delivery request as there is an open order and the QTY will be received over time. Is there a reason for a separate PO for each delivery?

I am currently trying to figure out how the Purchase Contract works in Sage X3. I was able to create a Delivery Request against it but I can't seem to Release it. It stays in a Planned state. The information I have been able to gather thus far has been spotty so I am just trying to figure out how it works! I appreciate your patience.

Not sure how to get it out of a Planned state so it can be Received?

If you have rights, you should be able to click in the Order status field and change the status to Firm, then Save the changes. If you cannot change the status to firm, you might want to open a support ticket with your local support team to investigate the issue further.

I am an ADMIN but I still can't update it to Firm. It must be a setup issue of some sort.

I figured it out. It had to do with the Firm Horizon on the purchase contract. The firm horizon was set such that the demands from which the delivery was created were outside the firm horizon so it was creating the delivery line in a planned state. I was able to get it created and successfully receive it by manipulating the firm horizon on the purchase contract. VanessaQ, thank you for taking the time to discuss!
