macOS / M1 / aarch64 / arm64/ Plugin Eclipse Sage X3

SUGGESTED

Hi Everyone,

Anyone had success running Eclipse arm64 binary version on Mac M1

I got the latest stable build of Eclipse for arm64 : eclipse-SDK-4.24M1-macosx-cocoa-aarch64.dmg

 Runs fine

Was able to install the Eclipse plugin

However. Connecting to X3 still has issues

An internal error occurred during: "Getting language list".
org/eclipse/osgi/internal/signedcontent/Base64

Suspect the Eclipse plugin library might need to cater for this or perhaps still issues on Eclipse binary for aarch64

P.S Java are used that got me the furthest : zulu17.32.13-ca-jdk17.0.2-macosx_aarch64.dmg

Otherwise it all works fine under Rosetta2 running x86 64bit Eclipse.  Just slower to load due to the emulation.

Would like to get the native binary working since it is faster to switch between servers when restarting eclipse each time.

Hoping someone has had some luck with this.

Cheers

    SUGGESTED

    Hi,

I believe that the Safe X3 plugin requires Eclipse 2021-03 (V4.19) or earlier.  I don't know for sure on Mac OS, but on Windows the plugin errors with later versions of Eclipse.

    Kind regards,

    Martin

    Hi All

I have tried this once more with the latest version of Eclipse. Version: eclipse-java-2023-12-R-macosx-cocoa-aarch64

Installing the Sage Eclipse plugin stage: I get the following error:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Safe X3 Studio for Eclipse 2.1.9.rev001-20230315-1053 (com.sage.x3.xdt.feature.group 2.1.9.rev001-20230315-1053)
Missing requirement: Safe X3 Studio for Eclipse 2.1.9.rev001-20230315-1053 (com.sage.x3.xdt.feature.group 2.1.9.rev001-20230315-1053) requires 'org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu; org.eclipse.mylyn.context_feature.feature.group 3.6.1' but it could not be found

Really would like to get this working on Eclipse version that runs natively on aarch64. It is SOOO much faster .

    Many thanks
