non-standard response- QC

SUGGESTED

I configured technical sheet question as checked for 'non-standard' response but set to No blocking.  I want the message to pop-up that it is non-standard which it does but now I cannot move the goods into A status.  I assumed the No block being selected would allow me to set the status to A.

Am I doing something wrong in the setup or is this how standard Sage works?   Is there the flexibility to remove goods from QC with non-standard response and how would the question be configured if so?

any help is appreciated., thanks- Christine

    Hi Christine,

Can you please check if Status A is allowed in the product category under Receipt section?

yes it is.  the product is configured as changeable control and all receipts go into QC.   I am looking to put into A status a non-standard response.   I have the question setup as No Block however only able to select R status.

    >>yes it is.

I will assume this means yes, it is a po receipt.  Here is some information that might help.

Wild guess i that you might be bumping up against the PO receipt rules which put another constraint on movement.

The options available in the Quality section define whether a product must be controlled on receipt into stock.

The options available at the QC management field include No Control, Nonchangeable Control, Changeable Control, and Periodic control.

    - Select Non-changeable Control to make quality control mandatory. When receiving, you can only enter the status of ‘Q’ for the products received into stock.

    - Select Changeable Control to have the ability to change the status of products received from ‘Q’ to ‘A’ or ‘R’ at the time of receipt.

    - The status defaults to ‘Q’ automatically, but can be changed.

    - Select Periodic control to periodically check items received. The items received are given a ‘Q’ status only and cannot be changed.

    - When an item is received with a ‘Q’ status, you must go through the Quality Control task on the Inventory > Quality Control menu to release the item so that it is available.

thank you for your reply however that is not the issue I am having.  I'm having an issue with changing the status to A for a batch with a non-standard response that is configured as 'no block' on the question.   This issue is when I'm already in Quality Control and entering results for the technical sheet.  I want to be able to move the goods to A status regardless of the result entered.  This behavior works in the Sage standard test folder but not in our production folder.

The last line says the only way to release this if it's a PO receipt and non changeable so you must go through the Quality Control task on the Inventory > Quality Control menu to release the item so that it is available.

Are you trying to release it there?

    Stephen,

appreciate the reply but that is not the issue. I am in the quality control function already and I'm trying to receive into A status a C of A that has a non-standard response.   The Sage standard system allows to enter A status when non-standard is checked and the blocking type is 'no block'.  In my system though this is not working and the default status is R.   I'm just wondering why my system is not working the same as Sage standard.    This has nothing to do with the Qc management as I have all products configured to go into quality control.  The issue is that I want to select A status and I cannot for non-standard C of A result.

I believe this started when we went to V11 as don't believe we had this issue in V6.  Thanks for reply though.
