There is a new e-mail notification client released in 2022 R2 (V12 patch 30), and it's pretty. 

The set up is found on the menu as below. (Administration > Servers > Notification server )

There are just two general parameters  SYRMAIL and YRMAILSRV  which I set  up as below on my folder. Save and re-log into X3

On the Notification Server setup function, Test your configuration to make sure things are ok. 

You should get a pretty e-mail  in your e-mail inbox (Outlook in my case)

Now you are ready to set up the workflow notification at the Workflow rules function, and tick "Use theme" to get the pretty notification.
