Check the General Role assigned to the SEI user and ensure that the require actions are enabled for the assigned role, specifically the Formula Drill-down, Pivot Table Refresh and Data Extraction refresh options.

Thanks for getting back to me, the user has BASIC role assigned to it, view only user and access to "Formula Drill-down, Pivot Table Refresh and Data Extraction"

Data Extraction is not permitted for a View only user, only the Data Extraction Refresh option.

Thanks for the response, to see if I get it.. does this mean that person X which has more rights collects and organizes the data via an SEI/Excel file while person Y then can use/consume such file?

Hi Pablo, 

Yes, that is correct. Person X would be allocated a Full user license and then, based on their user profile, create the required worksheets, charts, etc. in the web client or Excel workbooks via the SEI Excel Add-in. Person Y would then be able to open and refresh those objects.
