Where can I find current instructions for setting up…

2 minute read time.

During a recent conversation with a colleague, I was asked where to find a current copy of instructions for setting up Sage Sales Tax. She had a set dated 2017 and thought there had to be something more current that she could send out to a partner. She had scoured her hard drive. She couldn’t remember if she ever had a more recent one.

It’s not the first time, I’ve come across people with old copies of setup instructions. Some don’t even realize they are outdated and offered them up to others. Things change between version and/or patch levels like: “The Java Bridge server is no longer required for batch processing of Sage Sales Tax transactions on versions 11 and higher.” This information is found in the setup instructions.

So, where can you find the most up-to-date information? You can find it In the Online help center under the How to tab! Let’s start with locating the Sage Sales Tax information. Click the “?” on the top toolbar of any screen and select Online help center.

Once in the Online help center, go to the How to tab(1). In the Distribution box (2), and scroll down to Implement Sage Sales Tax (3) and click.

This brings us into a fully searchable guide.

There are many other guides under the How to tab.  For example: in the Financials box there is a guide for setting up credit cards: Sage Exchange implementation.  In the Manufacturing box is the guide for Project management (PJM).

There are frequent additions to the How to guides tab. Go to the Home tab and review the Recent How to guides for new additions.

The biggest advantage to having the guides in the Online help center is that you always have the most recent version of the guide available.  No more searching through your laptop files to try to locate the guides or struggling through setup with a very out-of-date guide. The Online help center is available without having to sign on to X3. Click here to explore it.

While we are looking at online help, did you know there is online documentation for Sage Enterprise Intelligence (SEI) too?  Go to https://onlinehelp.sageenterpriseintelligence.com/Latest/en/Home.htm and check it out.

I hope this information decreases your stress level now that you don’t have to remember where in the world you saved those guides. It may free up some space on your hard drive too as you start utilizing the Online help center.

Take care my X3 friends. Stay safe!
