Function VXAPT (Production reporting) is designed to create production reports and material consumption documents according to the selections made on the entry transaction.

It can also be used to launch an automatic label printing. It is also designed to work with the RF terminals (handheld devices).

When we can track only the finished goods and the materials, how to track the operations? Good question!

To track the operations, we need the NA Addon XA01 (ADC RF warehousing) license. When you purchase the XA01 license, it comes with some additional functions like ADCs, Sales, Sales picking (XASP), ADCs, Manufacturing, Material picking (XAMP), unexpected material (XAUM), and Setup, ADC, ADC parameters (GESXAP) which are not in the core product yet.

What I meant by that is you may have seen several ADC functions under ADCs menu in Sage X3 production/ SEED folder but may have questioned yourself why I don’t see the material picking or sales picking under ADC menu.

Basically, if the NA Addon license is not purchased and the patches are not integrated then these functions are not available to use.

Once you integrate the addon patches XA00 and XA01, go to the production plan (GESMIL) entry transaction under Setup, Manufacturing, Entry transactions and select the transaction code.

After selecting the transaction code make sure you have the ADC parameters tab displayed next to Analytical tab. If you do not see it, meaning the NA Addon patch (XA01) not properly installed.

Under the ADC parameters tab select the local menu field “XA_BFLUSH” Backflush and set the flag to “Yes” and validate the changes.

Finally, to test the above process let us generate a work order and track it using telnet.

         a. Select the function VXAPT

         b. Select the WO and track the released quantity and create the document.

         c. View the tracking document.

• Use the log reading function (LECTRACE) to view the tracking number (F39028).

• Under production tracking function (GESMTK) select the tracking.
• Notice, along with the production and material, operation tracking is also complete.
  • WO operations line status is “Closed”.

I hope this information is useful when not knowing why VXAPT is tracking the operations when the entry transaction is not setup for this or if you have the NA Addon and would like to test this feature.
