Can you apply update 1 to Server before installing 22.2 on workstations?

When I go to install the 22.2 year-end version of 300, after installing 22.2 on server can I immediately install update 1 on the server? Meaning prior to making my rounds and stopping at 40 workstations. Then at each workstation, can I install 22.2 and then install update 1 after that? Or do I have to hold off on update 1 on server until 22.2 is first installed on workstations, then go back to server and install update 1 and then go back to every workstation and install update 1? This second option would require 2nd visits to each workstation. I looked thru the various year end guides and various release notes but the timing of update 1 as it relates to server and workstations was not addressed, or at least I could not find it.

Thanks. I called SAGE and spoke with a tech who didn't exactly give me confidence who said you had to wait until after installing 22.2 on the workstations to go back and put update 1 on the server, and then go back to each workstation again and install update 1. It just didn't seem right so I was looking for opinions on this page. One last question regarding the order of things on the server. Do I upgrade the company databases between 22.2 and update 1 installs. Or get thru the update 1 install and then upgrade the company databases?

Either order on the upgrade should work because Update 1 does not require any upgrade to the files.

I don't believe you would need to install the update prior to upgrading the data files, but since the update is quick and the upgrade of the data files can be long you may want to install the update before upgrading the data files. If you are coming from v 20.5 Payroll and POIVData will require an upgrade of the data files. Not sure about SM. If you are coming from an older version there may be many files that have to be upgraded.

The upgrade of the data files can be running on the sever while you are installing the 22.2 and 22.2 Update 1 on the worktstations
