Payroll Change Period End Date

I just used Change Period End Date to correct my accidentally entering the period end date incorrectly (May instead of June) on the Import Time screen, and was shocked to find that it also changed the Dates on all of my time records. Those dates were correct!  Has this always been the case?  I'm fairly certain I've used Change Period End Date in the past to only change the Period End Date.  II ended up deleting all of my imported checks and re-importing the time with the correct period end date.  Is there a way to change just the Period End Date on the file without affecting the dates on the time entries?

    Bc,

I believe you identified the one condition where Modify Period End Date will also change the time entry date.  In reviewing Sage's Help Topic: Modifying a period end date, they note:

Note: Modifying the period end date on checks with dates entered in time entry will also change the time entry dates.  You cannot modify the period end date for these checks if doing so would result in time entries with the same employee, period end date, and check sequence as other time entries in the same file.

Is it possible that when you used this tool previously you only had imported time and had not manually entered any time?  If not, I would report this to Sage Support as the tool should only impact the Period End Date field, not the Time Entry Date.
