Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate - GL - Import Transaction Template

SUGGESTED

I could not download any templates from Help, but I am hoping that someone will share with me. We record 50+ entries for distributions daily and wanted to speed up the process by importing all the entries into Sage via csv file.

I know that the add on program Office Connector has an import feature that would work. Check with your business partner for pricing.

You can create your own template in Excel by following your Help Topic: Import transactions record format.  I.e. The Import order are your columns (10 in all with the 10th being optional).  You could enter the Item "description" in your first Row of your Template, just remember to delete the top row prior to saving your data to a .csv file.

So, your columns (in order) would be (followed by the example):

Record ID Account Accounting Date Journal Reference 1 Reference 2 Transaction Description Debit Credit Accrual or Cash
    GLT 20-1201 02131999 5 ref1 ref2 this is the description 0 13.20 1

When saved to a .csv file it would convert by replacing your column separators with ",".

The Help Topic: Import transactions example, shows what your row(s) should look like having been saved to a .csv file.  Note that any row that starts with ";" is simply a note and will be ignored during the import process.  I recommend deleting any rows with descriptions or notes to avoid confusion in the .csv file.
