The PR Tax update is not dependent on the year end update. I tell my customers the PR Tax update is typically done after the last PR of current year and prior to first PR new year.

Last year the update came out around the 17th I would expect it will be some time around the 15th.

I work for a reseller/ VAR I am not sure what Sage's hours will be.

I sort of remember either last year or the year before the new year-end version did have to be installed before the PR tax update (or at least I was told that by SAGE.) So that is why I asked that. Are you saying typically it is not dependent on what version of SAGE you are on, or for this upcoming year-end you know that it won't be dependent? Thanks

I do not think it has ever been dependent on your version. Keep in mind I am talking about the tax update itself, you go in and your tax rates are for the new year. Its the W2s/ 1099s and new forms is what you are really looking for. Now changes in the system, talking about the ACA, then that is dependent on the software upgrade. 

Stephen is correct.  I am sorry if there was any confusion about the two updates required for Payroll each year.  To state again:

1. The Tax Rate update: Scheduled to be released on 12/21 this year (for Federal and maybe some states - other states released up through January?).  This needs to be downloaded in Payroll and updated after you've Posted your final 2021 payroll and prior to Processing your first 2022 payroll.
2. The Year-End software update (20.5 this year): Scheduled to be released 12/9 (though as of 5:57 a.m. PT I have not seen it released yet).  This is to update generally Payroll and Accounts Payable (compatibility with Aatrix), but can have other updates included - see Release Notes once released.  This should be installed prior to generating Government Year-End reports/forms (e.g. W-2, 1099).

They generally announce the release (officially) in the Sage 300 CRE Announcements, News, and Alerts section of Sage City (I recommend subscribing).  This is available from Sage Desktop under your Sage Construction & Real Estate - Sage City Community tab.  As I understand, Sage Support will be open normal hours this year (6:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. PT) while being closed on 12/24 and 12/31 - no Saturday support this year.

The 20.5 update is out there. I'm not sure why it isn't mentioned in the Announcements forum, or listed as a "latest update" in the downloads section of the KB. If you search for "20.5 download" you should find it. Or you can use this link:

Anyone else having issues with this link where it requires another login but doesn't work?

I had to hit a refresh/ update/ login 

So, will clients need to upgrade at year end, or can they wait for 20.5?  is there a pressing need to upgrade? 

It says my username/password is invalid as well.

The links to download the release are not yet LIVE and will not be until the official post has been made to the Sage City Announcements page.   I double checked on this and the KB is now live, but we have not yet published the announcement.   I suspect the problem is with the link that Wooderson posted previously. I will provide further information on how to access the download KB below.

Customers should read through the release notes for 20.5 to determine if they need to upgrade. There are not many significant changes for 2021 Year End. We will be referring customers to the Release Notes so they can determine if they need or want to upgrade based on what is included in the release. Additionally it really depends on what version they are currently running as well.

When is that happening?

The link takes you over to the Sage 300 Knowledge base (support.na.sage.com). My login there to download updates, etc. is different than my Sage City login. The link and KB article about the update and download are live. (Sage Solution ID 113638). I've got it downloaded and will be installing in a few minutes.

If you are having issues accessing the download article that Wooderson posted within this thread you can access the article by going to Sagekb.com, logging in to the site and then find KB article 113638. 

As Wooderson stated, your login to the Sage Knowledgebase differs from your Sage City log in.

  Please let us know if you continue to have issues accessing the article and have an active service plan.

There are no plans to have extended support hours for year end.  I have asked for a post to be made on Sage City along with the information regarding holiday closures.
