Close month in job cost

Question

For the last 4-5 months, I have been unable to close the month in jobcost without restarting the Sage server. I can close the general ledger without any issues. I get the error that the job cost master is in use, but no other user is logged in when I attempt to close jobcost for the month. Has anyone else had this issue or have a suggestion of how I might be able to move forward without our IT support?

Try Knowledgebase Solution ID: 18202. It will at least let you see which user has the master file in use, unlock the file, and maybe get to the bottom of why you cannot close the month.

This has happened to me... I get error 'JC Master file in use. To fix I went to the path that is referenced in the error and copy and pasted the MASTER.JCM to my desktop. I then deleted the file from the original path. Now when you try to close Job Cost it shoudl say, 'File not Found.' Copy the file from your DT and paste into correct spot and you should be able to close.
