Payroll Taxes

when i run my deposit summary for the quarter, and i run the state efile report my totals match. we use aatrix to submit our taxes and when doing so i get a rejection notice saying my payment will be different. up on investigation i found the excess wages are not showing up thru aatrix but are on my draft copy. no socials or wages were changed since last quarter. any suggestions?

  • Some things to look at, verify that the state SUI_E tax has the correct rate and limit.  If this is not correct, you may need to run recalc to fix.

If there is no limit, you won't see excess taxable.  Excess taxable is the difference between taxable and subject to amounts.  Which state report are you running?

  • Hi Joy,

Which form are you filing? We can take a look and make sure It's working correctly.

    Thanks!

    its the south carolina unemployment

sage picked up the excess wages over 14000 but when filed thru aatrix it did not pick up the excess wages and charged the tax based on  total wages

Call into support when you can, we do want to make sure that on the SCSUI_E tax there is a rate and limit.  If you run the Subject to Employer report do you see that the subject to has stopped at the proper limit for those who have earned more than the limit for that tax?  If not, Recalculate Subject to will need to be run.

Remember that if the employee has met the limit for SCSUI_E, the excess wages shown on the report should be correct.  Excess wages are the Taxable wages - the Subject to wages.  Since this is the 3rd quarter, if they met the limit in prior quarters, you'll see that the excess will equal the wages paid this quarter.
