This link is broken. Is there another area we can find information about the 1099-NEC updates? Also is version 20 the only supported version for the new forms?

You can process your W2s on v18.4 but you will need to be on 20.3 for your 1099s

I upgraded and then the Merge function did not work.  We received an error everytime we tried to merge the NEC with the MISC to make one 1096. On phone with Aatrix now to see if they can merge the documents for me post processing.

Hi Vicki,

The NEC and MISC are different form types. The 1096 only allows for one form type per submission. 1099s are filed by form type and Federal ID. You can only merge files if the form type and federal ID are the same.
Can the 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC be merged into one filing or combined on the same 1096 form?
