Job Cost

SOLVED

Does anyone know why the jobs I set up in Job Cost doesn't show up in the range selection. For instance, I'm trying to run a Labor Hours report and the jobs I set up recently aren't showing up int he ranges. Help! please and thank you!

How about an older job that doesn't have labor hours coded to them, do they show up? For me, I entered about 10 jobs recently, out of the 10 jobs, we have labor hours to 4 of them but all the other jobs without labor is showing up except this one. I've tried deleting it and re-entering it and it still doesn't show up. I've even assigned it a new job number with the same result. I'm confused....

Suzanne, when using ranges for a report that is driven by transactions, as this report obviously is, you will only see the available ranges based on data actually in the transaction file.  You will not see jobs that have no data of the type being reported.  If you selected the "Current.JCT" file, you will not see unposted date that is in the NEW.JCT file.

Thank you for this! Next week, I will run an hour of payroll time to the job i'm missing and see if it'll then show up. What you said makes total sense! The other jobs that doesn't have hours that shows up in the range selection I mentioned earlier have other transactions just not labor. The job I'm not seeing on the list doesn't have ANY transactions. There is light at the end of the tunnel!!! Thank you so much!
