When linking cost codes in Contracts the error message that the cost code already exists pops up, however we are using an Extra. We have done this a million times with extras, I'm not sure why this is now happening.

That error would occur when that cost code is already linked to another contract item.
You can go to Reports, Lists, Contract/Job link to review the cost codes linked to your contract items to see where else it may be linked.
When using Extras you can use cost codes more than once, which we are doing.
I see - if when you ran the Contract / Job link report it did not show you an item already linked to that extra and cost code, then you may want to call Support so we can review your data with you.
