New Chart of Accounts for Existing Company

Hello,

I have an existing company and chart of accounts but with our business expanding we have  a need to add more segments to our set up and therefore would need a new chart of accounts. What is the best way to set up a new company, new chart of accounts, and move the balances for the existing accounts over?

    Sage can provide a service known as a GL Account Key change. This will provide a change to the existing account format to the new desired format.  You can call Sage Support to get the wheels in motion to obtain a quote associated with the cost of this service, or you can email your Sage Account number and contact information to me and I can have someone contact you.  ([email protected])

    If you are finding your GL structure currently doesn't fit your business needs, you can pretty much guarantee there are other parts of Timberline that could be improved if you are going thru the effort.  Whether you do a key change or re-implementation, you probably want to discuss with your consultant evaluating the system as a whole and design a roadmap for the path of least resistance with maximum impact.
