Using Retainage in Job Cost

Hi all,

I have a brief question regarding Job Cost Module>commitments. In this section there is an area to put a retainage amount. I want to be able to see this percent difference on my reports. Is there an option or special function needed to be added to my reports to show the amount being processed and the amount being retained?

    This is going to vary on a report by report basis.  You can see the retainage percent assigned to the commitment and commitment items in the JC Committed cost inquiries by adding the Retainage Percent field to the views. You can also determine the amount of the retainage held against the invoices billed against the commitment by adding "Amount being retained" field to the inquiries.  This amount is populated when the payable invoice is recorded against the commitment.  Since these are fields that are stored on the commitment and commitment items, the reports you are using can likely be modified as well to include the information you are looking for.

    You may need to create a formula to calculate the anticipated amount of the retainage being held, as the program doesn't store the amount, it stores the percentage.
