Removal of an archived company in database administration

I would like to remove some of the archived data companies in SQL. When ever I upgrade or update the product, I have to update the older Archived databases. Is there a method for removing those companies and storing? I may at some point in the future need something and would import...update and use if needed. Right now they are not useful. Please let me know

    Michael,

There are a couple of options. You can delete them in Database Administration, in which case a backup of the database will be automatically created in the default backup location (Sage100Con\Backups\On Demand\_Deleted Companies). You will want to copy those backups to another location as they will be removed after 30 days from the default location.

The other option is to create a new SQL instance (you can call it SAGE100ARCHIVES or something similar) and move the older archives to that instance. This way they will be separated from the companies you currently use, which will remain on your current instance. This can be done in Database Administration under the Server Management menu. You can click the ? in the upper right corner of Database Administration to get the Help window with instructions for this process.
