Innerjoin should not be necessary but the select statement is

I tried this, but it didn't work:

SELECT fulfst FROM employ WHERE employ.recnum = actrec.slsemp

You have to include the table name in your select  so SELECT employ.fulfst FROM      And you will likely have to put {    } around the actrec.slsemp   

OK, I tried this, still not working:

SELECT employ.fulfst FROM employ WHERE employ.recnum = {actrec.slsemp}

try replacing the fulfst with the code for just the first name to see if its the field that contains the full name with first name first.  I have seen where some databases that field was not filled in so the select statement won't work.  If it works for first name only then that is the issue.  If it doesn't work, then its something else in the statement.  Sometimes its extra spaces

That didn't work.  Then I tried adding some spaces, and it created some sort of error and just erased my whole report.

I feel your pain.  It happens to all of us.  its usually not more spaces, but removing spaces around the =
