Another option in your situation would be to log into Database Administration using a SQL Authentication account instead of a Windows Authentication account. Instructions to create a SQL Authentication account are in KB Article 75589.

How did you get this resolved? I just purchased and received the download link. Setup users and database. First time I login it says must upgrade database. I go to upgrade database. In SQL I get an error and it won’t upgrade. In windows it just runs forever and will not upgrade. Totally NOT a good way to start my Sage 100 contractor experience.

After trying several things, including removing and reloading the software several times, we figured out that Windows Security was blocking access to the Sage folders. Once we changed the permissions all was fixed.

Jim - by Windows Security, are you referring to User Account Control or file permissions?

Not the user account. Windows Security that runs the virus protection, etc. Access to the Sage folder was being blocked.
