How do I know if a question is answered in the forum?

1 minute read time.

Answer: You'll know it when you see it!

When you post to the Sage CRE forum, you'll have two options: Question or Discussion. Question topics are more so how-to's and other step-by-step type questions. Discussion topics are posts that are open ended and used to get opinions and feedback from other users of Sage City.

When using a Question type post, you'll want to read the suggested answer from other posters and judge the responses for yourself. This provides confirmation by you, the original poster, that the response provided to you resolved your issue or question. However, if the question is answered by multiple users or the thread ends up to be an on-going discussion for 4 pages before reaching an answer, it may be a time-consuming task to go through all the posts first before getting your solution.

In our Sage City forum, we implement a nice feature, which can help you jump to the answer immediately without reading through all the postings in a thread.

After the thread originator posts a question, a red question mark bubble will show up to the right of the thread title, indicating the question is still unanswered and waiting for a reply.

If a respondent is confident with their solution provided, they could put a check mark to the "Suggested Answer" box. The status of the thread will turn to yellow question mark, indicating a possible answer is there to review.

When the original poster comes back to the topic, they can review the proposed solution and assess it's validity to their question. If the original poster confirms the posted answer, they could click the green button ‘Yes’ to the option: Did this answer the question? Then, the status of the thread will turn to green, indicating and answer is verified by the original poster.

This marking system not only benefits the original poster, but also helps other Sage City residents to look up solution faster than before.

If you come up with a good solution for a post, please do not feel shy to mark it as suggested answer.

If you find the suggested answer useful to solve your question, please mark it as verified answer, which can assist other users to get to the solution faster.

Have a safe and fun weekend!
