Removing the check number and company name when printing checks

SOLVED

When I updated to BW 2019 it started printing our company name and check number, even though they are pre-printed on our checks. I also need to move the ‘To” information (name and address) down about 4 spaces because you can’t read the Name when I put it in an envelope. I went to CM>Maintain Cash Accounts>I select General Ledger Account Number (A/P Cash Account #3)>Check Options>unselect Print Company Name and Print Check Number>Done, and it shows the error “GL ACCOUNT NUMBER NEEDED A General Ledger posting account is needed”. The cursor moves down to Cash Account Number 5 which is blank and it won’t let me select Cash Account #3 again, although the 2 boxes are still unchecked under #3. I was able to find the check we use under Cash Management>Utilities>Maintain C/M Forms but couldn't figure out how to move the address lines down a few spaces. Any advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like you may have had a few unusual things with updating your cash accounts.  Many of these issues relate to articles we have in our Knowledge Base (SageKB.com).  I have include the article titles and reference #s for your convenience.

You are correct, to remove the company name and check number, you will want to go to Maintain Cash account.  For more information on this, you can also refer to article How to add or remove company name and check numbers on forms (32552)

It sounds like somehow you got placed into a new or blank cash account and now the system wants you to populate THAT cash account information.  You should be able to the cash account and click  the Delete option to get out of the blank cash account.  For more information on this see article ERROR: "GL ACCOUNT NUMBER NEEDED a General Ledger posting account is needed." For editing or adjust fields on a form, you have a couple options on moving fields.  The most common in to manually customize your form to physically move the fields to where you want them.  Our system allows you to customize your forms to your desire.  See article How to create or edit custom forms (17607)

If it is an issue with information just not appearing in a window envelope correctly, then you may also try using the alignment option to align the forms.  How to print alignment tests to align forms (29619)
