Unable to connect with the System Manager Database. Pervasive ODBC Client Interface Client LNA... no available transport protocol for the Pervasive Network Service Layer

SUGGESTED

We are running Windows 10 with a Server 2012 Datacenter server.  Everything has been running along just fine and now the clients are getting the above error.  I have read something about a Microsoft update and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling at the client but now getting errors to just reinstall and nothing is working... ANY HELP???  Thanks

    Hello-

Good news!  There is an Knowledge Base article on that error.  You can access our Knowledge Base by going to support.na.sage.com.  For your search enter the Knowledge Base article number 39468 or the title "Error: "...No available transport protocol for the Pervasive Network Services Layer" (39468)" .  The article offers a list of suggestions for you to try.

    Thanks,

    Coleen

That generally has resolved issues after the Windows 10 update.  Next I would have you verify you are on the current version of Sage Exchange.  In our current version of BW (V2018) we only support the V2.x of Sage Exchange.  If you are on V1.x, then I would have you update to v2.x.  See article #77826 "What Sage Exchange version do I have installed?"  This covers what version you have and how to upgrade.  Note: you have to be on V2017 or V2018 to upgrade to v2.0 of Sage Exchange.  If upgrading to v2.x does not resolve your issue, then I would call support at 800-447-5700 to open a case with a technical support person for further assistance.

    Thanks,

Thanks Coleen... I will look at this and see what I have.  Of course everything works great from the server but I can't have my users sitting at my server.. .lol

What is Sage Exchange?  I don't see anything with that name... Just BusinessWorks

Sage Exchange is the program we use to store and/or process credit cards in BusinessWorks.  In order to meet Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards, credit card information cannot be stored locally on the computer, but must be stored in a secure online location. Sage Exchange, our credit card storage and processing module provided by Sage Payment Solutions - now called PAYA, enables this functionality and ensures that Sage BusinessWorks is PCI compliant

    Renee-

In reviewing your previous response, my information regarding Sage Exchange may not apply to your situation.  If you have gone through everything on the Knowledge Base article and are still experiencing issues, then I would suggested creating a case and we can have a technical support person for additional support.  You can call 80-447-5700 to create a case, or you can also just create a case on line .  For steps to create a case on line, refer to article #11710 "How do I create and view a Support Ticket via the Sage Customer Portal?"
