You are correct, you cannot restore an incremental backup in Sage BusinessWorks. Sage BusinessWorks does not have an automatic backup. To backup within Sage BusinessWorks use the built in backup utility found under File, Backup.

But it would be interesting to see what other customers are using when they do backups outside the Sage BusinessWorks program.  I hope you get some responses and some suggestions that will work for your company.

Still looking for suggestions from other BW users. Currently, our IT provider is writing a script to force a back-up of BW each night and then our remote back-up system will save it during it's daily save. But there's got to be a better way to do this!

It looks like you may be in an older version .  In our current versions V2021 and V2023 the screen looks like this:

Make sure that the script can handle "stuck users/tasks" and clear them so all backups can be complete in full.  I have to "kick" my COO all the time because he works from home so much, and leaves his station logged in and in BW

This has been my biggest backup issue. I have a backup software I use (Syncovery), which tests to make sure all files are writeable first, if it fails it does not backup and I get a notification. As these are just for dailies (emergency) and not for periodic/closing backups I am generally unconcerned as I can just do a force kick at end of day to allow it to backup cleanly on the following day.

Also, I have tested backups via Windows Server Backup in the past and they have worked, but admittedly I haven't tried this method for a few versions.
