Currently, in BusinessWorks users manually create and maintain their own sales tax IDs through AR, Utilities, Sales Tax Maintain.   For more information on sales taxes, you can refer to this article - Sales Tax - Frequently Asked Questions. 

Otherwise, it would be interesting to review the responses to you question and see what customers are using outside the BusinessWorks program to calculate sales tax.

Thanks Coleen! We created an integration between Sage BusinessWorks and AvaTax. We collaborated with a few Sage BW users to make the process of tax calculation easier and more accurate. We're wondering what else, if anything, Sage BusinessWorks users use for tax calculation, if it's not manual.

Thanks for your answer! Do those services actually integrate with BusinessWorks and populate tax values into the invoices? Or is there a manually process where values have to be copied and pasted into BusinessWorks?

 Yes they are integrate with BusinessWorks. Our organization also use SubscriptionFlow Avalara (https://www.subscriptionflow.com/subscription-software-integration-with-avalara/) to streamline tax calculations.
