1. As long as you have backed up after all transactions have been completed, it should not matter if you backup and then close or run the backup during the close procedure .

2. Each Module has a STATUS, look for it in the UTILITIES menu of each module ( I close 6 companies and have to double check myself every month) The status will tell you what is the current month

They all say the correct month, so I guess all is good!  Thanks so much for your help.

I'm not sure if your version has this, but when I close each module, it asks me if I want to back it up individually.  Do I need to do this even if I already backed up the main back up? In our old version, in never asked you to back up each module individually before closing.  I hope I'm making sense here.

ANSWER:

We do recommend that you do a backup prior to the close.  If you can confirm you already have a successful current backup, then it is not necessary to repeat the backup when you receive the prompt when performing the month end close.

If you have concerns with a close, you can review the Audit Report from the menu Utilities, Audit Report.  Every close should list EOM Close (Start) and EOM Close (End) entries for each module closed. If the report shows when the close started but does not show it ended, then you have a failed close and you must restore a backup file created before the close.  Once you restore your backup, you will need to reenter and data entered AFTER the backup was performed.

Hi Coleen,  

When I go in the audit report, it does not display any information you listed.  

It only shows the following information:

Information about the last 100 form-level changes (changes made with command buttons such as New, Delete and Rename) The Audit Report highlights such changes as when a customer was added and who renamed a part number.

Is there another place I should check?

 The Audit report should show information for as long as you are keeping history.  In addition to form-level changes is will show when you did the month end close.  Run the Audit report again.  The report shows the most current information first.  Scroll down to the date you performed the month end close.  You should see a Start and an End for each month that Successful closed .  For closes, it should look similar to below.

If you still are not seeing your month end close, then I would recommend using the Live Chat to work with a support person to help you confirm if you had a month end close failure.
