Clearing Transactions for Reconciliation

SUGGESTED

Regarding the Reconcile Checking Account tab, I know that I am supposed to check off those checks that have cleared the bank, however do I also check off other non-check related transactions from the list if the bank statement I have states that those transactions have been completed? As I read my question, it seems silly to ask, but better safe than sorry.

Forgot to add; all transactions form my bank statement and related expenditures have been entered through A/P module and General Ledger posting

    Steve-

Yes, you are going to want to clear the other items as well. I would recommend reviewing Knowledge Base Article #17605 “How to reconcile a cash account”.  You mentioned General Ledger postings below, and depending how they were performed, that may affect your reconciliation.  The Knowledge Base article does mention how journal entries from G/L can affect your reconciliation.  If you are new to Sage BusinessWorks, Cash Reconciliation, we have lots of resources for you.   If you go to our Blogs (In Sage City go to Sage BusinessWorks / Blogs) there is a great article that was posted today regarding “Everything you need to know about reconciling”.  It provides you with article regarding reconciling cash and other modules, like the A/P.  After reviewing those articles and you feel you may need more training, go to our Sage University at sageu.com.  There are classes on reconciling cash as well as other modules you can register for.  And these classes are free if you are on a Gold Support plan!  If you have a question regarding a specific issue on your reconciliation, you can also open a case by call 800-447-5700 to speak with a support analyst.

    Thanks,
