Garnishment Question

Posted By FormerMember

I received an email from a client indicating they now have an employee with a garnishment order.  The order reads the employee is to have a total of $762.80 garnished from their paycheck over the next 10 pay periods (evenly).  Is there way to setup a garnishment formula to deduct 1/10th of the total amount for each of the next 10 pay periods and then stop the deduction after the 10th pay period.

Setting up the flat deduction is straightforward and I don't have any issue advising them on how to set that up, but I wasn't sure whether or not a formula could be written so that the deduction stops once the total garnishment amount had been met.

My first thought on this is to just manually keep track of the number of pay periods that have passed with the garnishment deducted and then quit deducting it once the total garnishment liability had been fulfilled but before I responded to this client, I wanted to check here.

Thank you.
