Yes a subscription can be monthly and cancelled anytime.

If you go over 60 days, you will be paying for the entire year.   Have you looked at the trial version of Sage 50?  That may be the place to start.   Sage 50cloud Accounting

Also, if you sign up for the year, you will get a 40% discount.  That is not available when paying monthly.

Good to know, I hope. I was going to subscribe last nite but on the final checkout page it says the following

1-user,  Annual Subscription Paid Monthly

That sounds like I am on the hook for a full year. So now you understand my reasons for questioning. One or the other must be true. They may want to clear that up.

Shirley, in my first post I stated that I have worked with the demo. My net connection is not the best so the demo seems sluggish.
Also it's not the same as looking at numbers I know about.

My biggest concern is transferring over from QB after 30 years.
Ehhh, let's just say I have my doubts as to how painless that might actually be. Hence needing the time to make the changeover.

Also, nowhere do I find a choice of month only, even at a higher cost. 

I want you to know that Sage will convert your data for free after your purchase. Even if you don't use it, I would go with the conversion.

I don't know if you looked at the numbers but a 1-user Premium at 40% off for one year is only $554.40!
