We re-upgraded to Sage 2023 last night. Here's the latest info.

SOLVED

Original Post: We looked at printing quarterly reports today and we aren't getting our 2023 tax forms. Contacted Sage and they won't help us because 2022 is no longer supported. We're done with Sage. We are not going to put up with this anymore. 2023 is broken, we aren't going to install it. I'm on the phone with another solution provider. Sage can have their broken software and headaches.

Update (3/10/23): We didn't want to cut off our nose to spite our face so I decided to attempt the Sage 2023 upgrade one more time before jumping ship. I put in the ticket with the host to do the upgrade last night. A fellow from Sage called me last night as well. We had a long conversation about my company's long running issues with Sage 50 and he seemed very sympathetic. IT folks like myself catch the brunt of users grief when applications we manage don't work they way they should. I've been under tremendous pressure from my company to ensure Sage runs well and stays up to date and that's not been happening for over 4 months. I explained how only a handful of users on these forums have noted good luck with the upgrade while the lions share of users are still experiencing problems. I told him about my planned upgrade for the evening and he told me he wanted to clarify that we didn't have to upgrade to 2023 to get our quarterly tax forms. We couldn't download them because they don't exist yet. Apparently they don't come out until the end of the last month in the quarter. At that point and considering today is Friday I decided I would not cancel the upgrade and let it go on through to see what would happen. I scheduled a callback from Sage for 2pm today and hung up from the call.

Incidentally, the Sage rep told me I had Premium support which I knew I had but I didn't know that support came with a means to setup web profiles for responsible users to facilitate them creating Sage call back requests for support. I will be implementing these profiles for our power users to get timely support from Sage.

This morning I didn't even make it to work. I logged into the remote host from home and found Sage 2023 installed. I preceded to run the software and it was slower than 2022. Oh no, I thought. Check for updates. The windows that say either no updates at this time or show the updates didn't pop up. Upon exiting the program an thrown exception error popped up. I've seen this error before and it is related to permissions. I contacted the host and told them what was up. They worked and worked on the problem and finally we got that fixed and window popped up showing no new updates. The performance was still slow. While the host was working on performance I started checking things out. When I tried to load our custom forms I received an error that I looked up and found forum post that detailed a fix that involved manually removing Aatrix Forms and reinstalling via a link from Aatrix. Listed below are the links to the post and the form update download.

Aatrix Current Quarter Update for Payroll Reports

After following the forum post that resolved the problem with the reports. The host told me that they had applied some changes and repaired the install for Sage. At that time I logged into Sage again. It was much faster in the GUI and logging in. Speed is currently relative to 2022 and in some instances may be a bit faster in early testing. Quarterly reports are not available still but that's on Sage. I have instructed all the users to log in now so we can test load on Sage. I will update this thread with any changes.
