If you use Work Tickets it would create the demand at the raw material level and even be able to auto order those components needed to complete the BOM.  But at minimum it would allow Sage to figure out what to order based on the Qty Avail because the Work Ticket can change that qty.  Let me know if you want a demo of that if you are not familiar with work tickets.

bottomline So - how do the work tickets get created.  Do you enter a sales order, and then enter a work ticket for the eact same items?  Thanks

Donald Smith It's a Database accessory that he's created that looks into the Sage sales orders and can create something in the direction that yuou are looking for.  I played with it, but it needs more development, IMO

You can do it that way especially for make to order manufacturing.  You would basically use Work Tickets instead of assemblies, but you do need to enter the work ticket as Sage will not auto enter it.  

Awizz - If you didn't see what you expected, it's because you have a massive database and your BoMs are all hacked up.  You'll never get what you are looking for from a small business accounting system alone.  It's a pipe-dream.  Sure, my product needs some optimization as a new offering, but it's accurate albeit a bit slow presently.  Tell me where I'm wrong.

cartspan I think I said the same - it could be awesome value to many - but it needs a bit of "optimization" to make it simpler to put to use.  It fills an incredible hole in the sage product at a very reasonable cost.  You are not wrong in the least.

A Crystal Report or an XLGL Report should be able to provide this information to you, depending on how many levels deep your Assemblies are.
