What remote service are you using? 

We host Sage 50 on a local server on our network. Wouldn't this be the optimal situation?

How long does it take in the office environment?    Are you spell-checking as you go along?  Or before it sends?  If before it sends, that could slow you down too.

For Sage 50 Remote Data Access to work properly you need to be HARD WIRED on both sides of the transaction. You also need a fast internet system.  If the internet is slow on either side of the transaction, your data will never move very fast!  

Also, make sure you do backups before shutting down your machine.   If the remote fails, you can restore your backup to the server machine.  We do data repair when things don't go as planned.

A desktop remote like GoToMyPC, LogMeIn or RemotePC would be faster since you are not packaging data and sending it through the cloud to your office computer. You are remoted into the office environment and keying data directly into your system.  Someone has to monitor that machine and make sure it is always up and running.

The other option is to host your data on someone else's computer.   That saves you from maintaining the computer server machine and allows you to remote in from anywhere.  If you are interested in hosting, we also offer that service as well.

It's pretty quick in the office. We have all workstations and our local server hardwired into the LAN. Internet is 1GB Down/30MB UP.

So when using Sage Remote Data Access, is the outside user hard-wired, or are you trying this in your office environment?

I know it does stall every once in a while to send data,  and it is a little slower than regular input time. but 10 seconds does seem like a lot.
