1. Open sage 50 go to file tab> restore.  If you're on the same version or oldest will work. 

I do know how to restore, can you make a new company in Sage 50 Quantum and then restore a Sage 50 Premium backup? If you do this will the Sage Quantum convert the Sage 50 premium PTB file to Quantum and allow my CPA to view the files? It is my understanding that Quantum is a higher program than Premium?

You don't have to create a company. Don't open any company, just restore as a new company.  If your Premium is a 2022  and Quantum is 2020, NO you can not restore. But if the Quantum is a 2022 and Premium is any year less or equal to the Quantum, yes it will restore.

No, His version must be equal or newer than your version.
